Queuing problem at a Bronx laundromat. Too many customers wishing to dry, too few dryers, no line. Customers choose where they want to wait, and compete with each other for dryers. It can get ugly, as some competing customers can become confrontational and even violent. Some machines are not operational (marked with a piece of masking tape on the window), and some machines dry “better” than others (higher temperature means faster drying time, which means that you spend less money and time to dry clothes). Each customer is left to take all these factors into account and make their decisions.
